Costume Jewellery Storage Solution
I’ve finally found a great storage solution for my already-extensive-and-unfortunately-expanding costume jewellery collection.
Up to now I’ve stored my jewellery on cork notice boards or in individual plastic bags in a large shoe box. Neither of these options have served me particularly well; the cork noticeboard kept falling down under the weight of the jewellery pinned to it – plus I noticed that the items tended to become discoloured quite quickly with the constant exposure to air and dust – and the second option proved equallyproblematic as there was just too much crammed into the shoebox, which made it very difficult to find anything.

However, on a recent trip to Woodies DIY I came across these great storage boxes from a brand called Tactix.

They come in a variety of sizes (all I which I bought) and each one now holds one category of my jewellery collection e.g. bracelets, necklaces, earrings etc. I love the fact that I can store each item in a separate compartment so that it is protected, plus I can see each item in the box through the clear, plastic lid. The boxes are robust, sturdy and very easy to store. Best of all, they’re cheap (priced between €7 and €15).
