How to Look Good in Photos | Part 3: Expert Tips

Following on from my previous posts on how to look your best in photographs, professional photographer Shauna Kennedy from Morning Star Photography has these expert tips to offer:

Choose the right photographer for you:  Shop around for a photographer (at least 6 months in advance for weddings) and be sure to examine their portfolios to see whether their style of photography is right for you.

Do you click?  You need to be sure you feel at ease with your photographer so that you can explain exactly what you want.  They should be energetic and directive without being intrusive or controlling. The last thing you want is to be lumbered with someone you can’t stand!

Don’t miss any moments:  Make a list of the photos you would like and discuss these with the photographer. You should feel that the photographer is giving you enough time to elaborate on your ideas and that he/she is capable of offering advice on what they believe will work best for you.

Hair:  Always wash hair the night before wedding as this avoids fly away hair on the all important day. Photography can be brutally honest!

Finally, enjoy the photography experience:  Every image holds its own story and photographs are an excellent way to capture it perfectly. Not just a story for now, but for generations to come.
